About
One person, a couple of decades in IT, and an evening habit of building things with whatever tech happens to be interesting that month. This is what comes out of that.
Who runs this
A working software engineer with around two decades of experience designing automation, infrastructure, and platform tooling for a living. The day-job background is heavy on platform engineering, CI/CD, PowerShell, Python, and the unglamorous work of turning manual processes into things that run themselves.
Off-hours, I tinker on a home lab, 3D printing, self-hosting, small apps written for personal use, local LLMs through LM Studio and Ollama, and a slowly growing pile of weird little tools that solve very specific problems for one specific person.
What this site is
Burghr Bytes is a tech blog covering hardware, software, AI, and gaming. Posts come from one of three places: gear I have actually used, software I have actually shipped or run in production, or news cycles I have strong opinions on.
Get in touch
Tips, corrections, review pitches, sponsorship inquiries, or general tech rants all go through the contact page. Every submission lands in front of the same person who writes everything here, and I read all of them.
